Green Lab C Status Report March 26 - April 2

Accomplishments This Week:

C1
-finalized questions
-continued with design of main screen and incorporation of hot spots

C2
- designed main screen and two questions.
- considered other questions with a format more easily programmed in game maker.

C3
- Completed the first out of 4 mini games
- Integrated the mini game into the main world
- Planned out the other 3 games and split them between group members

C5
- Familiarized ourselves with Game Maker 8 and its basic functions.
- Searched and made some sprites to be used for the group's main interface.
- Worked on the group's main interface menu for the 3 mnemonic games.
- Divided the work load to the group members; each member will program one mnemonic game specified in the earlier update.

C6
- developed main page for interface with group
- continued development of remaining levels of the game

C8
- Complete and tested main menu page and interface
- Began constructing games with main menu
- Playing with gamemaker’s "windows", is it possible to have multiple windows in the background
- Testing written code in gamemaker to improve quality of games

C9
-Worked with Game Maker and slimmed down ideas for the game based on what we learnt that we could do with Game Maker and what not.
-Used Fireworks to create a "sick" looking background. Fireworks looks easy to use and is recommended for anyone that wants to use it.
-Split up work and discussed meeting times for the weekend


Plan for Next Week:

C1
To do
-Create hints for questions
-finish all rooms
-begin adding questions to the game
-begin final report

C2
-complete programming of all questions
- have program compiled with others via the main menu.
- begin work on final report

C3
- Integrate other 3 completed mini games into main game
- Add small details to the main world including NPC players who give instructions and signs that will help guide the user through the world

C5
- Focus on programming the game and familiarize ourselves further at the functions of Game Maker 8.
- Search or make more sprites and sound files that could be used for each game.
- In Monday, the basic framework or design of the each game must be completed.
- In Wednesday, each game must be almost complete, leaving only the common elements of each game (sound, connection interface, etc.) for compilation.
- Thursday or Friday, the group's work must be compiled together and tested to be one cognitive work package for the lab.

C6
- complete programming of all mini games
- work with other lab members to compile all sections together

C8
- Continue testing various aspects of games
- Testing all games and included interfaces
- Assist in writing "User Manual"
- Complete base models of both games, test and update to be completed by Monday

C9
-Have game finished for Monday along with Main Page
-Look for sounds/music that can be implemented into the game
-Figure out how a timer works in Game Maker and if it can be applied across the integrated game as a whole.
